R&D

GMB Korea, the unparalleled leader of the electrified parts industry in the era of green vehicles

The beginning of innovation that designs and
changes the future of the mobility industry

The GMB Korea R&D Center sets the standard of the future mobility industry through ceaseless research.

01 Coolant Hub

It is a modular product capable of securing competitiveness through the
reduction of the number of parts, weight, amount of assembly work,
package size, etc. by modularizing coolant supply and circulation parts in EVs.

02 Integrated Thermal
Management Module

An Integrated Thermal Management Module is a part that performs
precise control of the coolant’s volume and path among the engine and
parts (radiator, heater core, oil cooler, etc.) with a multi-way valve and
an actuator in order to optimize the thermal management of the
vehicle and its engine.

03 Electric Oil Pump

An electric oil pump supplies oil throughout a vehicle, and it is applied to ICE and
green vehicles (HEV, EV). The following are the functions carried out by electric oil
pumps for each vehicle type:

  • ICE
When an engine stops due to the ISG (Idle Stop and Go) feature, the
electric oil pump is activated to supply the minimum hydraulic pressure
    needed for a restart
  • HEV
Supplies not only hydraulic pressure for gear shifting of the transmission but
also the amount of oil needed for the lubrication of transmission parts
  • EV
Supplies oil flow for the cooling of the driving motor and lubrication of
    the reducer
04 Electric Water Pump

Countless parts exist in a green vehicle (HEV, EV, FCEV). An electric
water pump is a core part in the thermal management module that
raises or decreases the temperature of a vehicle system and its parts
and circulates coolant to maintain a specific level of product
temperature so that each of the parts can perform its own inherent
functions for a long lifespan.

05 Fuel Recirculation Blower

Fuel recirculation blowers applied to FCEVs recirculate and supply residual
hydrogen, which remains after being used in cell reactions in a stack
(fuel cell system) inside a hydrogen fuel circulation system, back to the stack.

06 Active Purge Pump

Active purge pumps applied to HEVs purge evaporative gas generated
in a fuel tank to the engine combustion chamber. These pumps
effectively control evaporative gas and optimize the discharge system
not only to minimize its impact on the environment and improve fuel
efficiency but also to play a critical role in compliance with
environmental regulations.
