On August 21, the Kyungnam University RISE Project Group signed an employment agreement with GMB Korea at the university’s 3rd-floor seminar room for teaching and learning,
aimed at fostering a favorable environment for highly skilled local talent to remain and build careers in the region.
GMB Korea develops and manufactures ultra-precision, high-performance automotive powertrain components that are exported to over 35 countries worldwide, driven by its eco-friendly vehicle technologies.
In particular, the company is growing into a global leader in eco-friendly mobility through electrification parts and thermal management technologies.
Most recently, GMB Korea has been carrying out the project “Development of a 2kW-class Electric Cooling Pump and Reliability Technology for 800Vdc High-Voltage Thermal Management Systems in Future Mobility”
under the additional RISE program call. As part of this initiative, GMB Korea has signed an employment agreement with two Kyungnam University master’s students, Baek Jin-chan and Kim Yeon-hee, to join the research.
Through the agreement, the two graduate students will engage in:
-
High-voltage circuit analysis and simulation modeling
-
Model-based design, control software development, and validation
-
Analysis and comparison of sensorless control methods
Vice President Park Young-sik of GMB Korea stated,
“As a virtuous cycle model for fostering and supplying regionally tailored talent, it is very meaningful to employ students trained through Kyungnam University’s practical education program in research positions,
including digital twin-based CAE design and analysis.”
Choi Sun-wook, Head of the RISE Project Group, remarked, “This employment agreement will contribute to the mutual growth of local companies and the community
by fostering and supplying talent that local industries need, while also helping create an environment where highly skilled talent can remain rooted in the region.”
The event was attended by 15 participants, including Kyungnam University’s RISE Project Group Head Choi Sun-wook, GMB Korea Vice President Park Young-sik, Executive Director Park Jong-won,
and Ha Jeong-su, Section Chief of Gyeongsangnam-do. Two researchers who had previously joined GMB Korea through the RISE pilot program also participated and shared insights on Kyungnam University’s
job-linked practical training program.
